Navigate to the Plugin Manager. This is where you will decide what type of server you can have. This screen will look something like this.

Here you can choose your server type. The following is a list and features of each:

Purpur

Purpur is a drop-in replacement for Paper servers designed for configurability, and new fun and exciting gameplay features.

PaperMC

High-performance fork of the Spigot Minecraft Server designed to fix gameplay and mechanics inconsistencies. Paper includes additional updates and substantial enhancements to reduce lag and boost server speed

Spigot

Spigot is derived from the CraftBukkit project and is designed to be more lightweight while being able to handle more players and more plugins.

It is suggested that further research is done before selecting a server type.

Once installed, you should have the ability to begin downloading compatible plugins at the “Plugins” tab. Once a plugin is installed, you can restart your server, and play!
